Steve Carpenter

Steve is the Chief Operating Officer for Lawson Associates, Inc., and brings an extensive career as a successful senior executive with over 35 years of experience in the C-suite of public and private companies that helped him take two companies public as well as raise tens of millions of dollars in investment capital.

Steve launched his professional career as a senior financial officer at some of the largest Texas banking organizations including Texas Commerce Bancshares, MCorp, and BankTexas.  Steve transitioned to the Information Technology sector with MTech Services, a subsidiary of MCorp.  MTech was sold to EDS and shortly thereafter, Steve became a member of the executive management team that launched Affiliated Computer Services (ACS).  At ACS, Steve championed as a senior financial and operational officer the acquisition and development of a number of the business units that resulted in an organization that ultimately grew to over $6 billion dollars in annual sales and was sold to Xerox.

Subsequent to ACS, Steve became the Chief Operating Officer of ActionSystems, an international customer relationship management company and led that organization to a five-fold increase in revenue and its ultimate sale to a publicly traded company.  Steve went on to expand his experience in the healthcare services sector in the areas of digital imaging, employee health benefits administration, and health & wellness as the President of Xtria and then as the President of CBCA. Thereafter, Steve became the CEO and co-founder of an innovative mobile computing device company that designed and built ruggedized tablet computers for military and commercial customers.

Four years ago, Steve transitioned from the for-profit sector to the non-profit sector to bring his 35+ years of leadership and experience to help social services organizations better serve their constituents.  Steve is a man of faith and is committing his time to help non-profits achieve their goals through better fund-raising initiatives and operational improvements. In his new non-profit role, Steve has designed and helped implement donor management programs and fund-raising campaigns for a number of non-profit organizations.

Steve received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas in Austin and lives in the DFW area with his wife of 29 years.  Steve and his wife are active members of Watermark Church in Dallas and have two children. Every weekend and throughout the year, Steve volunteers with the Red Cross Disaster Services Group and Mass Care Group supporting first responders and individuals impacted by fire, flood, tornados, and hurricanes.
